Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father and Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father and mother are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. At the age of seven, Ryder was seven, her family relocated to Mendocino County California. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder became an avid read because they had television. Ryder started taking acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. In 1986 she was offered her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Ryder believed that if she became an actor her behaviour could be reduced. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. It didn't stop her from following her dreams. It was 1988 the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that was her breakthrough. Ryder was able to continue playing parts that proved successful in various films. He was nominated for two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
