Heidi

Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach Germany on June 1 1973. Erna, her mother was stylist. Gunther was her father, and a senior executive at a cosmetics manufacturer. Heidi's Father was previously an Operations Manager at the 4711 fragrance company. She grew up in her hometown of Bergisch Gladbach a city of approximately 100,000 inhabitants just six miles east of Cologne. German-American ex fashion model and TV host, now a fashion designer and businesswoman. Karin advised Klum, who was just 18 years old, a student old, to compete in an German television talent show called Model 92. The German women's magazine Petra was the sponsor of this show as part of Thomas Gottschalk's talk program. Klum faced competition from 25,000 other contestants all across Germany as well as Europe, until she reached the semi-finals. In April, 1992 Klum won the top prize of $300,000.
